Step back in time at the Old Florida Festival—a family style tradition. This year’s festival promises to be the best yet with engaging and entertaining re-enactments and displays of Collier County history.
Some of the State’s finest historical re-enactors will join craftsmen and performers to recreate more than 10 centuries of everyday life in Southwest Florida. Some of the re-enactments include meeting Calusa & Seminole Indians and Spanish Conquistadors, watching cannon and musket firings, learning about the job of Blacksmiths, meeting British Redcoats and more! You will even witness a reenactment of the Seminole War Battle, a Civil War camp, meet WWII soldiers and learn about the Telegraph communication system.
Did you know that pioneers had to make their own baskets, butter and more? Kids and parents will both learn skills that were critical in pioneer life such as how to operate a sugar cane press and will even learn about basket weaving and candle making.
Come enjoy a taste of history and a variety of foods such as hot dogs, pulled pork, kettle corn and much more. A great event for all ages.
