New Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Offered at Collier County Parks

NEW VOLUNTARY PRE-KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM (VPK)
OFFERED AT COLLIER COUNTY PARKS

(Naples, FL) - Collier County Parks and Recreation is offering a new voluntary pre-kingarten program (VPK) at four community parks beginning Aug. 23, 2010.

The new VPK program will be located at East Naples Community Park, 3500 Thomasson Dr., Golden Gate Community Center, 4710 Golden Gate Pkwy., Immokalee Community Park, 321 North 1st St. and Max Hasse Community Park, 3390 Golden Gate Blvd. W.

The VPK program helps children reach their full potential and prepare for their upcoming year of kindergarten. The program promotes literacy and reading through an age-appropriate curriculum led by qualified instructors in a manageable class size.

The VPK program is FREE for all children who live in Florida and are 4 years old on or before Sept. 1. A VPK voucher is required. To obtain a voucher, contact Community Coordinated Care for Children at
213-3321 or visit their office at 201 8th St. S. in Naples.

The county’s VPK program is licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families.
