On Monday, Jan. 11, the Housing and Human Services and Parks and Recreation Departments will reopen the East Naples Community Park senior meal site. A grand reopening will be held at the park’s community center at 3500 Thomasson Drive on Jan. 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Senior meals will be served at 11:30 a.m. at the grand reopening event.
Housing and Human Services had temporarily suspended the East Naples Community Park senior meal program while renovations were completed at the park’s facilities.
Anyone age 60 or older may come to enjoy the free meals. The program also offers activities for seniors to build community friendships and improves social interaction.
Housing and Human Services also offers meals at the Golden Gate Community Center and at the Immokalee Roberts Center. The Senior Meal Program is funded by the Department of Elder Affairs in conjunction with the Area Agency on Aging and is supplemented with funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant.
Following the grand reopening, meals will be served at East Naples Community Park Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. by reservation only. To pre-register for meals, seniors may call (239) 252-5393.
