(Naples, FL) – Collier County’s Public Services Division will host its annual Senior Expo on Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Golden Gate Community Center with community resources available to seniors.
Public Services Division departments will participate in addition to community non-profit groups and outside agencies offering services from free medical assessments to showcasing living facilities. Domestic Animal Services will be educating seniors about volunteer and pet adoption opportunities. Housing and Human Services will educate seniors about services available to seniors that are homebound and the free congregate meal program for mobile seniors.
Parks and Recreation is excited to once again host the Senior Expo at the Golden Gate Community Center located at 4701 Golden Gate Parkway in the heart of the community.
Experts will be on hand to explain Medicare benefits to seniors and their insurance coverage options. This is very important so that older persons choose the coverage that will cover their medications to ensure good health.
There are many senior events in Southwest Florida, but this one is important because local government and grant program coordinators will be attending that do not attend other senior events. Additionally, the RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) Director will be inviting seniors to get involved in their community by volunteering at their choice of 600 local organizations.
For more information about the event, call the Golden Gate Community Center at (239) 252-4180.
