ROAD ALERT

This ROAD ALERT was prepared by the Collier County Growth Management Division to inform the community about scheduled road construction and road maintenance projects along major roadways in Collier County where lane closures are planned or traffic flow may be affected.  

COLLIER COUNTY CONSTRUCTION/MAINTENANCE PROJECTS:

Airport-Pulling Road and U.S. 41 East Intersection – At the Airport-Pulling Road and U.S. 41 East intersection expect intermittent lane closures in all directions, as well as in turn lanes for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews continue maintenance on the traffic signal mast arms. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in the area.  

Bryant Avenue adjacent to Sholtz Street – On Bryant Avenue from Sholtz Street to its dead end expect traffic to be reduced to ONE LANE ONLY intermittently for approximately six months between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews install water and sewer utilities as part of the Naples Manor Water Main and Force Main Replacement Project. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.  

Collier Boulevard between Fiddlers Creek Parkway and Port Au Prince Drive – On Collier Boulevard between Fiddlers Creek Parkway and Port Au Prince Drive expect southbound and northbound intermittent lane closures every Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews continue landscape maintenance in the medians.  Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.   

Collier Boulevard between Green Boulevard and Golden Gate Boulevard – On Collier Boulevard between Green Boulevard and Golden Gate Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures both southbound and northbound from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, for the duration of the Collier Boulevard Improvements Project which is scheduled to be completed in early winter of 2017. Motorists are advised to stay alert and drive with care. The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph on Collier Boulevard from Green Boulevard to Golden Gate Boulevard. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with electronic message signs, lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.    

Collier Boulevard between Judge S.S. Jolley Bridge and just north of Capri Boulevard – On Collier Boulevard between Judge S.S. Jolley Bridge and just north of Capri Boulevard expect southbound and northbound intermittent lane closures every Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to  3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs, a rolling truck with signage and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.    

Collins Avenue adjacent to Sholtz Street – On Collins Avenue from Sholtz Street to its dead end expect traffic to be reduced to ONE LANE ONLY intermittently for approximately six months between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews install water and sewer utilities as part of the Naples Manor Water Main and Force Main Replacement Project. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.

County Barn Road between Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Davis Boulevard – On County Barn Road between Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Davis Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures for approximately one month from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews continue to make progress toward completion of drainage improvements and road widening as part of the County Barn Road segment of the Lely Stormwater Improvement Project. Drivers are advised to proceed with caution, expect delays, and may want to consider taking an alternate route during this needed improvement work. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.   

Entrance Street between U.S. 41 East and Floridan Avenue – On Entrance Street between U.S. 41 East and Floridan Avenue expect traffic to be reduced to ONE LANE ONLY intermittently for approximately six months between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews install water and sewer utilities as part of the Naples Manor Water Main and Force Main Replacement Project. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.   

Floridan Avenue between Scholtz Street and McCarty Street – On Floridan Avenue between Scholtz Street and McCarty Street expect traffic to be reduced to ONE LANE ONLY intermittently for approximately six months between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews install water and sewer utilities as part of the Naples Manor Water Main and Force Main Replacement Project. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.   

Golden Gate Parkway between Bears Paw Trail and Livingston Road – On Golden Gate Parkway between Bears Paw Trail and Livingston Road expect intermittent lane closures every Monday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.     

Golden Gate Parkway and Santa Barbara Intersection – On Golden Gate Parkway expect eastbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes and the right turn lane onto Santa Barbara Boulevard to be partially closed on Monday, March 21 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews mill and pave short segments of the roadway. Additionally, crews will be partially closing the northbound left turn lane from Santa Barbara Boulevard onto Golden Gate Parkway to mill and pave a portion of the roadway. Drivers will continue to be able to make right and left turns. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.   

Goodlette-Frank Road between Golden Gate Parkway and Pine Ridge Road – On Goodlette-Frank Road between Golden Gate Parkway and Pine Ridge Road expect intermittent lane closures every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs, a rolling truck with signage and barricades are being used to assist motorists traveling in this area.  

Livingston Road between Radio Road and Pine Ridge Road – On Livingston Road between Radio Road and Pine Ridge Road expect intermittent lane closures every Monday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area. 

Pine Ridge Road between U.S. 41 and Logan Boulevard – On Pine Ridge Road between U.S. 41 and Logan Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to help drivers traveling in this area.  

Rattlesnake Hammock Road between U.S. 41 East and Santa Barbara Boulevard – On Rattlesnake Hammock Road between U.S. 41 East and Santa Barbara Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures every Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.    

Sholtz Street between Floridan Avenue and Tucker Avenue – On Sholtz Street between Floridan Avenue and Tucker Avenue expect traffic to be reduced to ONE LANE ONLY intermittently for approximately six months between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews install water and sewer utilities as part of the Naples Manor Water Main and Force Main Replacement Project. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.   

U.S. 41 East between Davis Boulevard and Rattlesnake Hammock Road – On U.S. 41 East between Davis Boulevard and Rattlesnake Hammock Road expect intermittent lane closures in both directions every Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.    

U.S. 41 between Wiggins Pass Road and Lee County Line – On U.S. 41 between Wiggins Pass Road and the Lee County line expect both southbound and northbound intermittent lane closures every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.    

Vanderbilt Beach Road between Vanderbilt Drive and Collier Boulevard – On Vanderbilt Beach Road between Vanderbilt Drive and Collier Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures in both directions as well as at the intersecting roadways for approximately two weeks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews install signs as part of the Collier County Advanced Intersection Sign Project. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.   

Vanderbilt Drive Sidewalk on the west side between Vanderbilt Beach Road and Bluebill Avenue/111th Avenue N. – On Vanderbilt Drive between Vanderbilt Beach Road and Bluebill Avenue/111th Avenue N. expect the sidewalk on the west side of the road to be closed intermittently for approximately one week, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, as crews replace portions of the sidewalk. Pedestrians will be detoured into the grassy right-of-way next to the sidewalk during this needed work.  Sidewalk closed signs and barricades will also be used to assist travelers in this area.   

WORK BY OTHERS:

8th Street N.E. between Randall Boulevard and Jung Boulevard East – On 8th Street N.E. between Randall Boulevard and Jung Boulevard East EXPECT TRAFFIC TO BE REDUCED TO ONE LANE ONLY INTERMITTENTLY for approximately two months between 8 a.m. and  4:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews working for Florida Power and Light replace power poles. Flagmen, as needed, along with advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.    

Airport-Pulling Road between Davis Boulevard and Radio Road – On Airport-Pulling Road between Davis Boulevard and Radio Road expect northbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to one lane intermittently for approximately four months OVERNIGHT between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting, as crews working for Florida Power and Light replace and install poles. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with electronic message boards, advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.  

Magnolia Pond Drive between Collier Boulevard and Noahs Way – On Magnolia Pond Drive between Collier Boulevard and just past Noahs Way EXPECT TRAFFIC TO BE REDUCED TO ONE LANE ONLY through Monday, March 21 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews working for Florida Power and Light continue maintenance on power poles. Flagmen, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area. 

Oakes Boulevard between Vanderbilt Beach Road and Shady Oaks Lane – Oakes Boulevard between Vanderbilt Beach Road and Shady Oaks Lane will be CLOSED TO THROUGH TRAFFIC intermittently for approximately one week Monday through Thursday OVERNIGHT between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews working for Florida Power and Light replace and install power poles. Detour signs will be posted and local traffic will be accommodated. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with electronic message boards, advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.  

Radio Road between Airport-Pulling Road and Donna Street – On Radio Road between Airport-Pulling Road and Donna Street expect eastbound traffic to be reduced from two lanes to one lane intermittently for approximately one week OVERNIGHT between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting, as crews working for Florida Power and Light replace and install power poles. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with electronic message boards, advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.
