Collier County Officials Urging Residents With Special Needs to Register for Shelter

The Florida Division of Emergency Management, in coordination with the Collier County Bureau of Emergency Management, developed a registry to allow residents with special needs to register with their local emergency management agency to receive assistance during a disaster. The statewide registry provides first responders with valuable information to prepare for disasters or other emergencies.

To register, visit https://snr.floridadisaster.org.

There are no shelters open at this time, however, Collier County will make a determination on shelters in the coming days. Collier County officials urge residents who plan to use the emergency shelter at the time Collier County opens one to have a bag prepared. This bag should have medication, cell phone chargers, toiletries including your toothbrush, favorite snacks and anything else you need to be comfortable. The shelter will have food and water.

For registry questions, please contact the Florida Special Needs Registry Help Desk at 1-800-374-9689 or FLSNRsupport@delataone.com. For media inquiries, contact Kate Albers at (239) 252-8011 or KateAlbers@colliergov.net.
