Collier County Domestic Animal Services Offers Free Microchips Ahead of Hurricane Irma
Wednesday, September 6, 2017 and Thursday, September 7, 2017
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In preparation for the possibility of Hurricane Irma making landfall in Southwest Florida, Collier County Domestic Animal Services (DAS) will offer free microchipping from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6, and Thursday, Sept. 7, for the first 200 pets that are current on their county licenses/vaccinations.
During severe weather events, there is always a chance that pets will flee in fear or become separated from their owners. Having a microchip implanted into your pets greatly increases the chances of recovering them safe and sound.
For pets that do not have current county license/vaccination, there will be a $15 charge. Microchipping will take place at the DAS Naples shelter, 7610 Davis Blvd., Naples, Florida 34104.
For more information, visit www.collierpets.com, stop by the shelter at 7610 Davis Blvd., Naples, Florida 34104, or call at (239) 252-PETS (7387). For media inquiries, please call Public Information Coordinator Daniel Christenbury at (239) 252-6956.
