Sunset at a gulf passThe Collier County Pollution Control & Prevention Department (CCPCPD) strives to provide customer service that "EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS".

The CCPCPD Customer Service Section provides information and technical assistance regarding the following CCPCPD programs:

  • Pollutant Storage Tanks Compliance Verification and Enforcement
  • Identification of Petroleum Contaminated sites and their Remediation
  • Hazardous Waste Management

Examples of services provided include:

  • Assist customers with the identification and classification of their pollution issue and provide them with the resources to fulfill their specific need through Department archives, databases, and personal question / answer.
  • Well permitting and tracking
  • Household Hazardous Waste information & education
  • Sludge disposal permits & sludge transportation license pick-up
  • Pollution complaint investigation (pollutant discharge or potential) 
  • Review files for environmental audits
  • Analysis of drinking water, swimming pools, etc.
  • Publications and reports of reoccurring facility environmental inspections including hazardous waste, pollutant storage tanks, sludge trucks, and small wastewater treatment plants (package plants)
  • Daily and archived records of airborne pollutant levels which includes ozone (a.k.a. smog) and particulate matter:  Laurel Oak Elementary ambient air monitoring lab data

Education Partnership Program Committee:

The Education Partnership Program, created within the CCPCPD, has the following mission:

  • Promote interactions between interested staff, school administrators, teachers, and students
  • Assist school staff in planning environmental education efforts
  • Create a file/"EPPC Record" to document present and future education related activities

Several staff members have contributed their talents/skills towards general public education and the enhancement of K-12 Public School classroom education. Two main courses of action have been pursued:

  • Directly: personal classroom involvement as a classroom or resource volunteer
  • Indirectly: educational materials provided to students and teachers in a variety of environmental fields that the CCPCPD may be actively involved in
