Q. What happens to my employment application after it has been submitted to HR?
A. Human Resources sends your employment application directly to the hiring departments for the positions that were applied for. The hiring manager is responsible for reviewing employment applications and scheduling interviews with those candidates that meet the qualifications.
Q. Can I apply for a position after it has closed?
A. We do not accept any applications for closed positions.
Q. Can I submit my application for a position that is not posted?
A. We do not accept any unsolicited applications.
Q. Can I apply for an Internal Only position?
A. Only current Board of County Commissioner employees are eligible to apply for a position that is marked Internal Only.
Q. What does ERP mean?
A. ERP stands for Employee Referral Program. Please read the Employee Referral Program Official Rules listed on our website under Human Resources/Applicant Information.
Q. How long does Human Resources keep applications on file?
A. All external applications are maintained in the Human Resources Department for six (6) months from the date of submission. All Internal Applications of current employees under the Board of County Commissioners are kept in their personnel files indefinitely.
Q. How do I know if a position has closed on the Internet?
A. Once a position is officially closed it is removed from the website.
Q. How do I apply for Veteran's Preference?
A. A DD-214 must be submitted along with the employment application to the Human Resources Department.
