Collier County developed and adopted a Floodplain Management Plan (FMP) as part of the requirements for attaining a Class 7 rating in the Community Rating System. This FMP is reviewed by county staff and an annual progress report is given to the Board of County Commissioners. The major emphasis of the FMP is to identify efforts to make the community more resistant to flood damage, especially as regards properties with multiple claims on their flood insurance policies.

The 2005 FMP is included as Section 7 within the county Hazard Mitigation Plan (click here). The Hazard Mitigation Plan is maintained by the Emergency Management Department. For more information regarding the Hazard Mitigation Plan, please access log on to the Emergency Management Department's site.  The Emergency Management Department is in the process of updating the Hazard Mitigation Plan this year.
