1. Summer Camps by Collier County

  Collier County Parks & Recreation is proud to offer a number of affordable summer camp programs for children. 

  Many grandparents will probably have young visitors this summer, so if you are a grandparent, you may also wish to read this article.

Summer Camp Options & Costs

Camp Collier: Grades K-5 & 6-8
 
This is a full day camp offers two different options, one for Elementary children and another for Middle School aged children.

Camp Information: 
  June 8-August 7, M-F,
9 a.m.-5 p.m. or longer care 7:15 a.m.-6 p.m. for an additional fee of $15. Cost is $600 for first child and $540 for additional siblings.

  Camp includes one field trip per week. Elementary campers should be in grades K through 5 or must be 5-years-old by June 1.  Middle School Camp, for those in grades 6 through 8, runs the same dates and hours.

Therapeutic Recreation Day Camp
  This is a camp for children with special needs.  This camp will be held at the Osceola Elementary School and is by Collier County Parks and Recreation. 

  Camp Information: June 8-August 7, M-F, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. or longer care 7:15 a.m.-6 p.m. for an additional fee of $15. Cost is $600 for first child and $540 for additional siblings.

Highlights of Shorter Camps:  Scholastic, Art & Nature Camps

Math Camp Grades 2 & 3
  Children participate in a variety of math activities and improve skills. For those in grades 2 and 3. 

  Camp Information:
  Dates: June 22-26 & July 13-17, M-F
  Times:  9:30-11:30 a.m.
  Cost: $100
  Location: Veterans Community Park

Writing Camps Grades 2 & 3 or Grades 4 & 5
  These camps focus on creative writing skills and improving writing skills.  There are two camps for different age groups one for grades 2 to 3 and another for grades 4 to 5. 

  Camp Information:
  Dates: July 6-10 & July 20-24, M-F
  Times:  9:30-11:30 a.m. 
  Cost: $100
  Location: Veterans Community Park

Art Camp
  This camp uses age appropriate skills to develop your child's creativity through art. For ages 6 to 10.

  Camp Information:
  Dates:  July 6-10 & July 20-24, M-F
  Times:  9-11 a.m.
  Cost:  $75
  Location:  Veterans Community Park

Lights, Camera, Action!
  Digital movie making camp including storytelling. This is a fantastic opportunity and the first like for Parks and Recreation. For ages 12 and up.

  Camp Information:
  Camp must have 10 children and needs 7 more children in order to schedule a 1 week program.

Camp Conestoga
  Go West Young Man, Go West.  Make a wagon, build a log cabin and churn butter.  Your child, boy or girl, will learn about how things were long ago and will learn skills they can use in today's modern society. For ages 7 to 10.

  Camp Information:
  Dates:  June 29-July 10, M-F
  Times:  9 a.m.-4 p.m.
  Cost:  $200
  Location:  North Collier Regional Park Exhibit Hall

2. Parks & Recreation Month - July

  During the month of July, Collier County will celebrate National Parks and Recreation Month during the month of July.

  Parks across the nation provide wonderful recreation opportunities for people of all ages.  Additionally, park systems like Collier County Parks and Recreation help preserve nature while creating recreational access for human activity.

  Collier County Parks and Recreation will celebrate at its annual event the Ice Cream Social on July 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. 

    At the Ice Cream Social event, kids enjoy a giant air slide and many activities not to mention the FREE ice cream Parks and Recreation staff dishes up.

  The Ice Cream Social will be held at Sugden Regional Park located in East Naples off U.S. 41 at 4284 Avalon Drive in Naples, FL. Again the time is 1 to 4 p.m.

3. Sun-N-Fun Lagoon Summer Hours

    Sun-N-Fun opens for the Summer Season May 30, the last Saturday in May.

    May 30 - Aug 14
    Open 7 days a week
    10 a.m.-5 p.m.

   More than 400,000 people have dipped into Sun-N-Fun since its 2006 opening. 

   Sun-N-Fun Lagoon is the perfect alternative to our busy beaches and the easiest way to cool off in Southwest Florida’s hot weather.  The park includes 5 slides, a lazy river, family pool, Tadpole Pool ( for little ones ), Turtle Cove (for kids 5 to 12), dive/lap pool and much more.

    Sun-N-Fun is located at North Collier Regional Park at 15000 Livingston Rd. in North Naples.  In addition to Sun-N-Fun Lagoon, the family could spend time learning about the regional park's 90-acre preserve and enjoy the children's playground.
