On Your Mark. Get Set. READ!
sponsored by the Friends of the Library

Wednesday, September 1 – Monday, November 1

The race is on! Who will cross the finish line? For grades K through 3.

Here's how it works:

Check out library books beginning Monday, August 23. Start reading immediately. Bring them into the library beginning Wednesday, September 1, and the staff will count them.

There are 3 laps that must be completed to win the race. Read 5 books to complete each lap and earn a coupon from a local restaurant for each lap completed. When you have completed all 3 laps (i.e. read 15 books), you will cross the finish line and receive a free book of your choice. You may run the race twice. The last day to count books will be Monday, November 1.

Grades K & 1: Select books from the Easy Reader section. Mom and Dad may help with a few words in each book.

Grades 2 & 3: Select books from any area in the children’s library.

All books must be checked out from the library, taken home and read. Return books to a staff member in the library for them to be counted. We will not count craft, art or cooking books, dictionaries, encyclopedias or board books. You may participate at only one location.

Let the race begin!
