COLLECTION
The Genealogy Collection is located in the Naples Regional Library, 650 Central Ave. The collection is a non-circulating reference collection of basic and intermediate resources, including books, periodicals, electronic resources, and web-based subscription databases.

AUDIENCE
The collection serves patrons interested in genealogical research of a basic introductory level as well as those prepared for a next level of familiarity. Reference help is available from experienced and dedicated volunteers. Please check their schedule in the Genealogy Room.

COLLECTION POLICY
The collection policy defines materials to be acquired, such as introductory and historical overviews, including acceptable donations. Because of the nature of the collection, specialized family histories, detailed regional records, etc. are not collected.

	HeritageQuest Complete U.S. census, 25,000 books of family histories and local histories, plus genealogical periodicals, and documentary images for the fifty states, Canada, and the UK. Library card number needed for access.
	Ancestry Library Edition Includes 3,000 databases of genealogical information. Accessible only from the Genealogy Dept., Naples Regional Library.
	WorldCat Search the world's library catalogs for books, historic newspapers, church histories, wills, manuscripts, maps, and other documents of importance to genealogy research. Available in the library and remotely. Learn more. No library card number needed for access.
	America's Newspapers NewsBank) From major metros to small town US newspapers, most from 1990's to present, fully indexed and searchable. Naples Daily News (12/08/95-current) Library card number needed for access.
	Family History Book Index Index of names found in the Library's Genealogy collection of family histories. Search by surname to find the name in all of the books in the collection. No library card number needed for access.
	Obituary Index The Naples Daily News Obituary Index indexes obituary notices appearing in the Naples Daily News. For more information, visit the NDN Obituaries Index page. No library card needed for access.
