The Collier County Public Safety Authority (PSA) was created by Ordinance No. 2012-23 on June 26, 2012 as a seventeen (17) member Authority to address closer inter-agency collaboration and integration of the pre-hospital emergency medical services delivery system. Ordinance No. 2014-37 reduced the membership of the Authority to a five member citizens committee. Members must have no affiliation with any hospital, fire district, EMS, municipality or the Collier County Sheriff's Office. The purpose of the Authority is to assist the Board of County Commissioners, municipalities, fire departments, law enforcement agencies and hospitals, with issues affecting pre-hospital emergency medical services within all of Collier County. This committee meets bimonthly. Terms are four years.
