COLLIER COUNTY ANNOUNCES MANDATORY EVACUATIONS DUE TO WILDFIRE
A mandatory evacuation notice has been announced for several homes in Golden Gate Estates due to the growing wildfire threat that is currently burning more than 400 acres.
The boundaries of the affected area are Frangipani Avenue south from Tobias Street east to Frangipani Avenue. Frangipani Avenue runs east and west and then turns south.
The unified command of fire and safety officials is recommending a voluntary evacuation for residents living along 16th Avenue Southwest between 9th Street Southwest and 23rd Street Southwest, including Inez Road, Keane Avenue, Smith Road and Hancock Hammock Road.
A reception center will open at the Max Hasse Community Park, 3390 Golden Gate Blvd. W., Naples, Florida 34120, with services for the evacuees. This is not an overnight shelter.
The Bureau of Emergency Services is asking residents who live in the area to monitor conditions and local and social media for a possible changes, including the lifting of the evacuation.
