Current Program Status

At the Regular Meeting of the Board of County Commissioners on February 14, 2017, (Agenda Item 11B), The Board directed staff to:

  • Immediately, in the current budget year, restart the Conservation Collier land acquisition phase utilizing up to $17m of on hand Conservation Collier Program Reserve funds.

  • In July, impose a .25 mils property tax for the next year to repay the Conservation Collier Management Trust Fund

  • In 2018, conduct a referendum to continue to impose the tax.

  • Approve any necessary budget amendments.

For the remainder of 2017, Conservation Collier staff will be reviewing "A" and "B" category lands from the last Active Acquisition List (Cycle 8 AAL)  in addition to any properties that the Board, Commissioners, or Advisory Committee identifies for consideration.
