Current Program Status
At the Regular Meeting of the Board of County Commissioners on February 14, 2017, (Agenda Item 11B), The Board directed staff to:
Immediately, in the current budget year, restart the Conservation Collier land acquisition phase utilizing up to $17m of on hand Conservation Collier Program Reserve funds.
In July, impose a .25 mils property tax for the next year to repay the Conservation Collier Management Trust Fund
In 2018, conduct a referendum to continue to impose the tax.
Approve any necessary budget amendments.
For the remainder of 2017, Conservation Collier staff will be reviewing "A" and "B" category lands from the last Active Acquisition List (Cycle 8 AAL) in addition to any properties that the Board, Commissioners, or Advisory Committee identifies for consideration.
