Collier County is often recognized by its citizens and visitors as having beautiful landscapes. This is achieved through the County’s landscape code which seeks to provide a natural aesthetic appeal to the built environment.

The County’s Land Development Code establishes the purpose and intent of the landscape code which strives to enhance the community’s identity, protect established residential neighborhoods, and reduce the potential incompatibility of adjacent land uses. Additionally, the code seeks to preserve canopy trees, reduce heat gain in buildings and paved areas through the creation of shade, and promote water conservation through the use of drought-tolerant landscaping. The landscape code also aims to reduce the potentially adverse impacts of noise, odor, and lighting.

The following documents are provided to assist in the landscape design and submittal process. Please note, these documents are to be considered as guides.
