Update: The DRAFT Golden Gate Area Master Plan Restudy White Paper is under review by interested residents and stakeholders. The White Paper is a compilation of the ideas, thoughts and concerns we heard during the public workshops. It also includes a list of initial recommendations for improving the Master Plan. The document is also available here, along with individual images to provide greater clarity. We would like to hear your thoughts. Please provide your feedback and comments to us at GGAMPRestudy@colliergov.net
The first Golden Gate Area Master Plan was created in 1991. A restudy resulted in a major amendment in 2003/2004. Since then, there have been about ten small scale amendments. The Plan provides growth management regulations for the areas know as Golden Gate City and the Golden Gate Estates. It is the guiding document, the vision, for the future of the Golden Gate Area and what it should look like. The link below to the "Golden Gate Area Future Land Use Element" is the current vision.
Golden Gate City and the Estates (East and West of Collier Boulevard) have unique conditions, challenges and opportunities. It's time to check the progress of the Master Plan and set forth an updated vision for these areas. What is the preferred future you will choose to create? County staff will be leading public workshops over the next several months to gather your input. Topics to consider are land use, mobility, environment and economic vitality. Join us at a workshop, complete a survey, send us an email, give us a call; we want to hear your opinions and ideas!
Many members of the community participated in taking a survey to describe their vision for the future. The survey responses were used to develop a draft vision statement for each area of Golden Gate. View the results of the first survey below.
